DISTRICT ORGANIZER

Posting date: November 8, 2009
Deadline: Candidates are encouraged to apply immediately.

The Campaign to Reform Immigration for America is seeking District Organizers. The Campaign is a historic, national broad based coalition bringing individuals and grassroots organizations to build support for workable comprehensive immigration reform and pass legislation this year. The Campaign will hire in states all around the country, for start dates in early December 2009.

District Organizers will run a district-based legislative field strategy by managing contacts with local partner organizations and providing direction and leadership to participating individuals, volunteers and organizations. Organizers will also execute district-level strategies for grassroots lobbying and communications work as part of a nationally coordinated field effort.

This is an opportunity for an organizer with working knowledge of grassroots networks and diverse sectors such as faith, labor, and community based organizations. Experience with electoral and/or legislative campaigns is preferred. Knowledge of, or exposure to, immigration or immigrant rights issues is preferred. This is a temporary full-time contract.

Women, people of color and ethnic minorities are strongly encouraged to apply. Bilingual ability strongly preferred. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Please send cover letter and resume to: demcampaigns@aol.com. Subject: State Director. No phone calls please. Visit http://www.reformimmigrationforamerica.org for detailed information about the Campaign.

Compensation: $38,000 annualized, depending on experience.
